I bought a nice Japanese paper parasol recently. I've had a hankering for one for along time and when I realised "hey, that could be useful in photo back drops", the deal was done. It plopped through the letterbox in time for the latest batch of snow. You know when you get a picture in your head and you have to try to realise it? Well, I had an image of a parasol in the snow. I once read that in old Japanese prints when you see a couple under a parasol, it means true love. I have a nice old print of a Japanese couple under a parasol in the snow and the image stuck. So on the way home last week I went on a snow hunt, and found a nice bit of quiet road, well out of the way, with some interesting trees and a vista of snowy fields. I figured that if I was going to prance around in a snow storm with the ttv camera in a black sock and a Japanese parasol, I would prefer it if no one saw me. So naturally one of our work volunteers drives past and stops for a chat. Well, that's my cover blown...............

Your photos are lovely. I especially love your umbrella. I've always wanted one ever since I spent some time in Taiwan many years ago. Maybe I'll have to do as you did!

I'm sure enjoying looking at everyone's 100 photo projects! Mine is www.ayearofhappyphotos.com.
